The Navien NCB 300 combi boiler is a very popular boiler, mainly due to its cheap price tag, aesthetic looks and good manufacturer's warranty. It has a compact design which allows it to fit in standard kitchen cupboards and has a high A-rated energy efficiency. However, like all boilers, it can still go into fault and will need resetting.
Common Fault Codes on the Navien NCB 300 Combi Boiler
Before we show you how to reset your Navien NCB 300 boiler, it is essential to understand why the boiler went into fault in the first place. Knowing why the boiler is in fault will help you fix the issue or explain the fault to a heating professional more accurately.
Here are the most common faults on a Navien NCB 300 combi boiler:-
- E003 - Ignition Failure: This fault will appear when the boiler fails to ignite, possibly due to there being no gas supply.
- E012 - Flame Loss: This fault indicates that the flame has gone out unexpectedly. This can be due to the gas pressure or a blocked flue.
- E016 - Overheating: This fault indicates that the boiler detects excessive heat which can be caused by a lack of water circulation or a failed pump.
- E030 - Exhaust Blockage: This fault indicates a blocked flue.
- E046 - Low Water Pressure: This fault highlights that the water pressure is too low and that the system needs repressurising on the flip loop.
How to Reset the Navien NCB 300 Combi Boiler
If your boiler is displaying a fault code, follow these steps to reset it:
- Press the Reset Button - Press and hold the reset button on the boiler's control panel for a few seconds until the display clears.
